Our chosen genre is crime and thriller. We as a group decided this would be the best as we all enjoy watching these types of films and we thought we would be able to create a better opening sequence using the crime and thriller genre then what we originally chose which was gangster crime.
We also decided to choose this genre after we had handed our questionnaires out and got our best results from crime and thriller.

Preliminary Task Evaluation.
For our Preliminary task we were asked to film a short sequence of someone entering a room, having a short conversation and then leaving the room which had to include:
- Shot reverse shot
- 180 degree rule
- Match on action
As a group we created and drew out story boards that we would follow to make the filming process easier. We would work out what shot we would use for what scene. Filming was the slightly easy part, after we had worked out who would be playing what part and who would be in charge of filming and directing. I was in charge of filming and angle work which meant I had to make sure that all the film was shot to high standard and included everything that was asked of us, whilst sharing the role with Molly. We took several shots of each scene and repeated it again so we would have a choice of what looked better and from what angle.
Our shot reverse shot was, in my opinion our best one as we had used it well. I think we could have improved on the walk into the building and the 180 degree rule.
Overall I was pleased with our Preliminary task as it showed that we knew what shot worked best where and how we had edited it to show this.
